Hello...

That guy taking pictures while perched on a large rock at the Oregon Zoo, the one with the special Interest in big cats just might be
Portland artist Berle Bledsoe. Bledsoe, a self taught artist, has been painting seriously for about twelve years. His first efforts were done
many years ago, but marriage, and raising a family, and his work as a warehouseman for Unisource intervened, and soon put art on the back burner.
When he retired his wife encouraged him to start painting again, and now he devotes many hours to his expanding career. Berle Is a regular at the Lake area Artist Show and the Lake Oswego Festival Of The Arts. Berle prefers prefers working from photos and is an expert at imposing Imagination and impression on reality. His first love is doing portraits, both of people and animals. Berle has a unique ability to see beyond the superficial and reveal the inner beauty of his subject a talent he brings to both his portraits, and to his wildlife and landscape art work.
He measures his success by whether a person Identifies with his subject and has a good feeling about it. When someone looks at his work and feels they have either been there, seen it, done it, or felt it. Berle feels like he has done his job well. He wants viewers to connect with his art." ~Mediums~
All artists have their favorites here are some of mine...
"Eyeball To Eyeball"
Acrylics

ACRYLIC...I work in many mediums, one of course is acrylics this medium gives me the look of oil without the odor and is very forgiving, it also allows me for speed and quick drying time over oil. "Eyeball To Eyeball" was done in acrylic

Watercolor
"Splash of watercolor"

WATERCOLOR... is a medium that I love yet it is less forgiving, yes there can be some happy accidents as the flowing water can make some wanted and unwanted trails but for me it is less controlling than other mediums. But I must admit it is hard to compete with beautiful transparent watercolors. "Splash Of Color" done in watercolor

Colored Pencil

COLORED PENCIL.. is a medium I use a lot because it is so controlling, there is nothing like a sharp pencil for being accurate, in watercolor you must control both the water and the brush. Although colored pencil is not easy to lift it when a mistake is made, it does not move under another color as might happen with other mediums "Me And Li'l Brother" done with colored pencil

Mixed Medium

MIXED MEDIUM ...sometimes I will end up with a mixed medium piece of art although I intended it as say.. a watercolor, but some how it went wrong...wow!! lost all my beautiful whites have you ever done that? I don't want to scrap all this hard work and the painting can still be saved so I add some opaque colors and now it looks good but must be called a mixed medium.
Some mixed mediums start out with mixing the mediums in mind.. and bingo!!
also a beautiful piece of art. "Checking It Out" mixed medium
